Selfie Does The Year in Review

Hey! This pic is back!

Hey! This pic is back!

Hi, Hi! December 5th marks the one-year anniversary of SelfieDoes.com so first and foremost, if you are reading this - thank you so much for being here! I dearly hope that any of this has been insightful or interesting but more than anything, helpful in some way to anyone who took the time to read a post or two.

Since, it’s our birthday, I wanted to take a moment and do a quick recap of the site and what you can find here!

Wait, who is Sharon?

Wait, who is Sharon?

1) Why…does this blog exist? Listen, I promise you that you are not the only person who has thought or asked this.* But first, of all, Sharon, my colleague several years ago, it’s cool if it’s not for you and second, no, not a vanity project. What the site is about is embracing the best in every day. To be excited to wake up every morning and be pumped up about what the day can bring. To not wait for the next vacation, next goal, next race, next whatever to feel fired about life. To embrace the adventures that hide in our everyday - be that through fashion, food, hobbies, fitness, helping others and maybe even winning a bet to dance to saxophone music on an empty dancefloor. 2) What’s the Deal with the Categories? Thank you for asking. Could there be non-rhyming categories that are more straightforward? Yup but then it wouldn’t be extra AF and what fun is that? So, here’s the rundown:

Places: Travel reviews, tips, suggestions, where-tos and how-tos. (Find out more: HERE)

Spaces: Parties, celebrations, decorations and around-town activities (Find out more: HERE)

Weights: Fitness and healthy living (Find out more: HERE)

Plates: Recipes, meal prep and meal planning (Find out more: HERE)

Style: Fashion, beauty and complaining about Sephora (Find out more: HERE)

Profile: Interviews with people that are bad-ass and can help bring light to the adventures around us (Find out more: HERE)

3) What were the Favorite Posts This Year? The top read posts were about trying out Kickboxing at Knockout and the second favorite? Papa Jose’s Famous Salsa Verde which makes me super happy because I love supporting local businesses, kickboxing, my dad, my dad’s famous salsa verde and I love that y’all did too! Other favorites? As far as creating, nothing made me happier than the Disney month posts here and on IG. That’s such a great community on social media and such a creative outlet putting together looks and photos. I mean, things I love? My friends, Disney, fun fashion and color! And that was just a whooooooole happy month. (Find out more: HERE, HERE and HERE)

4) What’s Next?

In 2020, I’m aiming to do 52 weeks of adventure! Seeking out the fun, hilarious, always-wanted-to-try-that and maybe just plain crazy. We’ll see! I’m up to like…20 ideas so if you have anything you want reviewed or tried out, I will do it. Seriously.** In the meantime, it would mean the world if you would comment here or chat me up on social media!

Until the Next Adventure!

*…I mean. If your thought is “Wow, does Selfie just love taking pictures of herself and talking about herself?” No and Yes. …Leave me alone, Sharon.

**As long as it’s not….gluten-based or one million dollars but beyond that, kick it!!
