Selfie Does Midiskirt Styling
I own a ton of skirts. Potentially a metric ton of them. Some people are jean girls- I am not the human. I love skirts - a-line, full length, ball gown, pencil skirts. You name it, I own it. But of late the additions to my collections have been mid-length skirts, mostly in tulle. Why? Because I also fell in love with Disneybounding (which you can check out here and on IG: @selfiedoes). But uh, one’s closet cannot be for Disney World alone + I wear a lot of suits so when I’m off-duty, I love wearing brighter clothes. So, if you’ve been loving the trend or you too have a closet full of skirts*, here are some styling suggestions as we head into...honestly, I love in Texas and I’m not sure what the heck season it is right now, so let’s just say “cooler temps”.
Bodysuits
My favorite thing about bodysuits are that they are flattering and close to the body so that they don’t add bulk under a fuller skirt.** I also wear these skirts with sparkly tennis shoes when I’m on the run.
Sweaters
Sweaters with midiskirts are my fav pinterest thing but…in reality, I’m a short human and I’m not trying to add bulk. So after trying to tuck it in or just wear it as is, I finally noted that every just uses a french tuck***. duh. Thank you, Tan.
Sporty Jackets
I also love a jacket so how to frame this uber-feminine skirt. I know a lot of people like a fitted leather coat but I’ve never loved that look on me - thus, this shiny Grease-esque pink jacket.
Cape Jackets
I want to wear this cape jacket to all things forever. And it was half-off. You win again, Satan!^ The belt here makes the shape.
Textured Blouses
I also love to wear this frilly skirts with textured shirts as long as they aren’t too bulky. If you were in the market for a looser shirt, you could simply rock a belt to get that hourglass figure, too.
